  1. Prepare haircap
  2. Use interactive grooming description
  3. Sculpt hair
  4. Convert them to curve using alembic export&import
  5. Generate ribbon/tube from curves

Hair Texture Workflow

  1. Prepare haircap
  2. Use interactive grooming description
  3. Sculpt hair
  4. Ajust material
  5. Bake it
    1. Unfold it to UV shape ( use LD_MayaToolbox or use python API write one yourself) and then render it.
    2. Also you can transfer it to polygon and bake high to low

Tips&Bugs:

  1. Set project first every time you use xgen.
  2. You can’t edit mask after changing the basemesh’s name or basemesh is assigned arnold material.
  3. Mask’s resolution should be not too high, in case performance issue.
  4. In orthographic view, you can encounter with update failure and convert polygon twist
